RESERVE and PINEVILLE, La. òòò½ÊÓƵ“ The UHV softball team couldn't have had a better weekend.

The Jaguars swept their four games against Xavier (G1 10-0, G2 16-0) and Louisiana Christian (G1 3-0, G2 7-0) Saturday and Sunday.

With the wins, UHV improved to 12-4 overall and 6-0 in Red River Athletic Conference play.

Senior infielder Kaylle Lopez had a stellar weekend, going 7-for-13 at the plate with eight RBIs and three home runs. The Sinton native had two homers in the 16-0 win over Xavier, both solo shots and her first two of the year. She added a three-run homer in the Jaguars' 7-0 win over Louisiana Christian.

After this weekend's showing, Lopez has hit in 15 of UHV's 16 games, including the last six. Her 31 RBIs leads the nation. She leads the conference with a .520 batting average, as well.

UHV mashed eight home runs total in the weekend sweep with two each from Allison Snedeker and Claire Blinka, and one from Jayce Bolin. Snedeker leads the team with four home runs.

Blinka finished with six RBIs on the weekend and Snedeker had four.

Shutdown pitching also highlighted the weekend for UHV, with Cameron Cowan and Anyssia Mendoza picking up a pair of wins in the circle.

Mendoza turned in a pair of career performances, first by striking out a career-high seven batters in a five-inning shutout in the Jaguars' 16-0 win over Xavier. She followed that up by taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning of Sunday's 7-0 romp over Louisiana Christian in Game 2 on Sunday.

Mendoza improved to 3-3 in the circle, including an unbeaten 3-0 mark in conference games.

Cowan improved to 8-1 on the year in 10 appearances and saw her ERA plummet to 0.92, a mark which ranks second in the RRAC and 18th nationally. The eight wins from the Shiner native ranks third in the conference.

The Jaguars return home Thursday for a 3 p.m. doubleheader with Doane (Neb.).
