Last Friday, interim head golf coach Taylor Dedmen announced her resignation from the University of Houston-Victoria menƵs and womenƵs golf programs to pursue opportunities closer to home.
Dedmen, a native of Florida, spent two seasons with the Jaguars, helping the menƵs team to the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament championship and a fifth-place finish at the NAIA MenƵs Golf National Championship as an assistant in 2024. It was UHVƵs fourth straight conference championship.
The same year, Dedmen helped the UHV women to a second-place finish at the conference tournament, the programƵs highest finish at a conference tournament since 2021.
This year, she helped guide the UHV women to the championship at the Tabor College Early Spring Invite, marking the teamƵs first overall win since 2021 and the men to second place at the RRAC Tournament.

She spent over a year as an assistant before being named interim head coach in March this year, helping coach three NAIA All-Americans in 2024 with Joshua Van der Wath, Nathan Biais and Enzo Dakiche taking home honors. The trio were also All-Region selections.
Taylor did a great job as an assistant coach and stepped in admirably as interim head coach when asked to do so,Ƶ said UHV Director of Athletics Ashley Walyuchow. ƵShe is a hard worker and I appreciate the work she did to improve our program while she was here. I wish her well in her future endeavors.Ƶ
UHV will begin a coaching search immediately.
